Album Notes
Lines In the Sand is the third album from Atlantis Quartet, named Best Jazz Artist 2011 by the Citypages, the group that Bill Milkowski of JazzTimes Magazine refers to "Twin Cities jazz renegades" with a sound he describes as "startlingly original." Recorded live at the Artists' Quarter in St. Paul, MN in May 2011, Lines In the Sand features eight original compositions coming from each of the band members. This includes Crave, from the band's first album Again, Too Soon (2007), four compositions from its sophomore effort Animal Progress (2009), and three previously unrecorded selections. This live recording captures the high energy and sound of Atlantis Quartet in its most natural and exciting state, in front of an audience. Total playing time is 75:53.
