ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Atlantis Quartet formed in 2006 and has been leading the burgeoning Minneapolis jazz scene since its inception. The group has been named Best Jazz Artist by both the City Pages (2011) and the Star Tribune (2012) and focuses on orginial, modern jazz music. Saxophonist Brandon Wozniak, guitarist Zacc Harris, bassist Chris Bates, and drummer Pete Hennig are considered some of the most exciting players in the upper Midwest jazz community. Bill Milkowski of JazzTimes wrote, "Twin Cities modern jazz renegades shift nimbly from a punk-jazz aesthetic to ECM-ish sensitivity on their intriguing sophomore release. Alto saxophonist Brandon Wozniak joins guitarist Zacc Harris on the frontline. Both strong improvisers are supported by the flexible rhythm tandem of upright bassist Chris Bates and drummer Pete Hennig on material that ranges from grungy and audacious to lyrical and evocative, freeboppish, meditative and swinging. Startlingly original stuff."
