Album Notes
This recording features clear, guided instructions for the major eye exercises of Satyananda Yoga. Your instructor, Atmadarshan, used yoga, particularly these eye exercises, to improve her vision enough that she no longer needed corrective lenses. She has taught these techniques in sold-out workshops for years and now makes them available for you to practice in your own home or office.

Details:

Track 1, Palming, is suitable for everyone. It helps relieve eyestrain, relax the muscles around the eyes and encourage circulation to the eyes.

Track 2, Blinking, is suitable for everyone with the exception of those experiencing eye inflammation (such as iritis or pink eye). It can help relieve dry eye. You may wish to remove contacts before performing this technique.

Track 3-8 strengthen the muscles around the eyes in a balanced way and improve their coordinated functioning. They also improve focus and concentration. Track 3, Sideways Viewing, is very helpful for those who currently wear glasses. Tracks 7 and 8 are especially good for developing depth perception. These techniques generally work best when done without corrective lenses. NOTE these tracks may not be suitable for people with certain eye conditions such as glaucoma, retinal detachment, cataract, thrombosis, etc. Please consult with a physician before undertaking these techniques.

Track 9, Shavasana, is suitable for all.

This album is the latest in a series of offerings from The Atma Center, a studio focusing on the therapeutic benefits of yoga. Director Beverly Singh (Swami Atmarupa) started the Center in 1997 after using yoga to reduce her medications and dramatically improve her health.
