ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Music evokes sense of poetry and timelessness; written by former psychologist, relatively new composer. Reviewed as being a "fine composer in the American contemporary style'. Music combines works for piano and flute, that have simplicity yet are melodic, at times exuberant, and always absorbing. The music contains an unusual range of idioms; jazz and classical and nostalgic 'songs' always without words. Reviewer noted "falling in love with aria-like simplicity" of two selections (Music Web International". Another reviewer compared a piece to Satie; suggesting it could be a 'long lost' Satie composition. One of this Cd's pieces was reviewed by the N.Y. Times as being "jazz tinged" with "harmonic shifts lurking below choromatic sufaces". Music is unique, calming yet highly evocative; involves the intellect as well as the mind. Short pieces reflect changes in mood and carry and unusually strong sense of melody and flow in a pleasurable way.
