ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"It is always a special experience to listen to Augusto Pirodda's surrealist pianism. Augusto is outside the norms. His is a strong character, his artistic voice is his own, nobody else's. It is difficult, very difficult, to find direct influences, to hear specific styles in his playing. Augusto is Augusto: take it or leave it.
His pianism is not for everybody. Always inside out, with a fabulous technique, always looking for something new, for something dissonant. On his keys the jazz standards take unexpected shapes, sudden flare-ups, dizzy accelerations and cataleptic slowdowns; all of this kept together by a "schizophrenic" vision of time, which belongs to Augusto and to nobody else.
Inimitable, unclassifiable, and most of all...BRAVO. Molto, molto bravo."

A Journey...solemn to sensational.
"Augusto's playing touches your spirit and takes you on a unexpected journey through rhythm, dynamics and time. Improvisational bravery at it's best, keeping you on the edge with heightened creative touches of accompanying world rhythmic instruments and also with his eclectic artistic flair, this CD is a must for those who are open and adventurous willing explorers of an unanticipated and suspenseful sound journey."
