ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Full of strong songwriting and great harmonies, AUGUST WEST, the duo Steve Lowe & Meg Murray, and their CD "Bishop St." is an impressive first effort for a band who built their following in the bars of Annapolis MD and Baltimore's Fells Point.

Backed by amazing musicians including Timm Bierry (Danny Gatton) on drums & organ, Jeff Muller (Eva Cassidy) on guitar and bass, RatDog's Mookie Siegel on accordian, blues legend Dean Rosenthal on steel guitar, jazz great Christian Boyd on piano & Hammond organ, bluegrass phenom Marc MacGlashan on fiddle and mandolin, and The Baltimore Gospel Choir, the songs of AUGUST WEST really shine on this country & blues-tinged rock record.

The production and arrangements here are top-notch. Each track has great personality and sentiment, with the perfect texture and musical accompaniment. The harmonies of Lowe & Murray and their writing are the heart and soul of "Bishop St." and this CD kicks some butt!!

Lowe and Murray have been nominated for Wammies (Washington Area Music Awards), and are winners of The Songwriters Association of Washington (SAW) Songwriting Contest for "Bishop St.", "Face Into The Wind", and "Come to Me" which are all included on this CD release. Get your copy of the only CD released by the band, stick it in the Cd player in your car and enjoy!!

This CD rocks!
August West used to play at a bar near my school, and every Friday night we would all go out to hear them play with their percussion guy, Kevin. It was always a blast and all of their original songs are now on one CD that I didn't have to bootleg!! The CD sounds awesome and their songs really sound amazing with a full band. This CD rocks!!
