Album Notes
The Austin Bella Corda, is an ensemble of award winning guitarists, most of them not yet old enough to drive.

These accomplished young musicians are some of the nation’s top youth competition winners and this is, of course, impressive on it's own. But more than that the Austin Bella Corda performs a melodious, inspiring repertoire of original music composed entirely for them. The pieces range from New-Renaissance, a Sephardic melange, Post Modern to Afropop and are performed by this collection of gifted musicians with skill, ease, and joy and it all adds up to a stellar experience of innovative music. You won't believe your ears!

" … they blew me away. …their program entertained me more than some of the more renowned classical performers. The young musicians play with an emotional sensibility way beyond their years." Jason Boyd, "Et Cetera"

“The music is fun and original and the students play it to the hilt!" Austin American Statesman

"It is a rare thing to hear a young and gifted guitarist. To hear more than one is an enormous delight. Hearing Bella Corda is an invitation to something fresh and exciting…" Marc Cruz

I love it. I play it at work to help me relax and it helps! What a wonderful group of talented young people! (And Owen Hunter is a real sweetie!!!)

me and my boy love this cd
The music pulls you in to a satisfying, inspiring and sophisticated adventure of melody and sound. For me this is always a joy, but more astonishing is that my 6 year old son listens to the music for hours on end. More often than not picking up his own guitar to join the ride. It's become the soundtrack of our home. Wonderful...

Wonderful Music! Beautifully Played!
This CD is quite an inspiration to my students and to me as a teacher. It is nice to know that when you get a group that works hard they can produce music at such a high level. I would recommend this to any teacher who wants to demonstrate great ensemble playing to their students, and hear some good new pieces for their own ensembles.

Wonderful and diverse!
We like classical guitar music in our house, so I thought that the family might enjoy this cd. But, it turns out that we LOVE this CD. All of the music played is unique and exciting, and all of the playing is great. It's hard to believe that the musicians are all under the age of 18. I recommend this cd to all of my friends now, whether they are classical fans or not.

Forget that kids play this music.
The music is moving, challenging and even puzzling at times. The album moves the listener from pop superficialities to the depth of mortality. This is an amazing tour. The guitar playing is even and at times startlingly beautiful. One of the most unique albums I've heard this year.
