ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Austin McBride's debut EP "From Myself' features five original songs that explore a wide range of moods and styles. The title track, "From Myself", was originally written during Austin's middle school years and has slowly developed since. The song boasts a melodious piano hook and a powerful, energetic chorus. It discusses how we as humans often pose as threats to ourselves and that we must seek guidance in an attempt to reform. "Internally Bleeding", the next track on the EP, is an intricate rock ballad that slowly builds as the song progresses. The song questions the very foundation of our identity and challenges us to remove the facade in which we often cover ourselves. The third song, "Too Far', is a feel-good song with a catchy chorus and exciting bridge. The song sends a hopeful message to listeners arguing that it is never too late to turn around when things have gone too far in one direction. "Iron Cast Heart" is a fast-paced, heavier song that examines our tendency to guard our hearts with a tough outer layering. It asserts that we must remove this outer shell from our hearts and dispose of our insecurities. The final song, 'Trembling" is a piano-based anthem dedicated to the mysterious workings of love. It tells of a man who will never give up on his love no matter the hardships they face. If one really takes the time to listen to this EP, he or she will understand the true emotion and thought that went behind it. The album is a declaration of Austin's personalized view of society, nature, and himself. It attempts to change the way in which we live our day-to-day lives by the power of music.
