Album Notes
The "Authentiks" are a Rock, Folk, Jazz, Spiritual, sometimes political band made up of ; Norman Blain on guitars and voice, veteran musicians Mark Cohen on guitars and voice, (Mark has been featured in Guitar Player Magazine},John Nuhn on bass and Billy Klock on drums.
Norman has been a recording engineer for many years and has worked and recorded with the likes of William Ackerman, Dar Williams, David Sancious of the E Street Band, Rani Arbo, Howard Levi of Bela Fleck, Glen Velez of Paul Winter Consort, Archie Shepp and has even recorded a Grammy winning album for Yusef Lateef on Atlantic Records.

Norman has always been writing songs that dwell on the spiritual or big question side of life. Whirlwind is the first CD available of Norman's music.

"Grandfather I have come to you for I am lost I can't wear this shoe. Stepped aside for a moment's toll and watched an endless winding road go bye. Like a bird you fly alone, a simple solid sparkling stone and like the dust of many a year you lay. Oh Grandfather teach me how to see between the leaves of every tree, please teach me how its done to climb the mountain and touch the sun". Norman Blain

Great new release
This CDs got a great sound. Looks like a new band out of MA that could reach beyond New England. The disc is well-polished and produced. Meaningful lyrics accompanied by strong instrumentation--get your copy today.

Where has this guy been??????
I happened to catch a benefit gig that a friend of mine (Don Gallagher) was promoting for a community farm.
Gallagher kept pumping this band as a "gotta hear".
Having been in the industry for almost forty years I always take it with a grain of salt. Especially from Gallagher.
His word on this one is "you can take it to the Bank!"
He's right on! Let's see if Paul would be interested in promoting this truly Authentik group. I listened to the ablum a few times on my ride back to NYC and found that these guys are super talented instrumentalists behind a singer-songwriter that is long overdue to get out of the closet! Man! What rock did he crawl out from under?????
