Synths or real instruments?
What a voice, 47 years after buying my first soul record Im still finding great voices BUT, whoever was in charge of the music should never be allowed anywhere near a studio again, a real drummer, base and some real horns would have elevated this album right up there with the best in recent times, if there's any doubt in what I say then listen to the recent Charles Wilson "Troubled Chiul" album and then tell me real instruments dont make a difference. I appreciate how costly real instruments can cost, but hell the studio time has been booked, why waste it. What a shame, I would have bought the album but I'll have to make do with track 1, which appears to have at least some thought put into the music arrangement.
