ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album tells a story; not just the story of one person, but rather that of the issues humans have faced throughout time and the challenges they confront in order to overcome them. It is clear upon listening to "We've Got Issues" that each track on the record is influenced by a lesson learned or an experience endured throughout different eras of singer-songwriter Ava Maria's life. Indeed, the music and lyrics for all of the songs on Ava Maria's debut album were composed as she matured from age 12 to 19. There are songs on this album for everyone, including survivors of abuse, mass tragedies, illness and addiction. The music, though orchestral and panoramic, ultimately whittles down to a simple piano and powerful vocals, a reference to the many years Ava Maria spent in her room with nothing but a pen, paper and the will to share her truth.
