Album Notes
Avenue Elle is in the process of recording their first full-length album, and have decided to make 6 tracks available as prerelease, simple, heartfelt versions of these songs.

"You Never Know" was written when Alison was finding hope in a difficult time. The jazzy song swings sweetly across the beat, with beautiful lyrics, nicely composed chord progressions and a melody that is soothing like a lullaby.

"Brand New Day" was written for Chrissie's friend who was going through some obstacles, and she just wished she could send him a hug through the phone. The song is upbeat in tempo and very "pop" in style, making you tap your feet along and start smiling because you are reminded there will always be another dawn that will bring better things!

"Ocean Meets the Sky" won in a contest with the Austin Songwriters Group in 2010, and rightly so. Alison's song gently transports you to a place where you remember that "There's a rainbow that's behind you, there's a dream that's tryin' to find you..." You are given inspiration to look around you and see that if you are just still a moment, you will find what you need.

"Dear Joshua" is a bittersweet story song about love lost and friendship realized over time and how caring never really goes away but is transformed with the winds of life. Folky guitar picking and sparse harmonies help paint the tale, based on Chrissie's true experience.

Alison wrote "Hands on You", a sassy, rhythm driven song, about a guitar, although it could be interpreted other ways! Fun, playful vocal echoing and harmonies make this song catchy and happy!

"Bring Me Back" was written in response to a friend who had gone out of the way to help Chrissie when she had been in a minor (but upsetting nonetheless) car accident. Featuring harmony vocals the whole way through, and with simple, lovely melody and thoughtful lyrics, the song earned the duo an appearance on the legendary radio show, A Prairie Home Companion

These songs will be followed with a fully produced, full-length album, so listeners can enjoy them now and be able to anticipate the final creation!
