ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Axon D'Luxeis a Brooklyn-based queer writer, creative, and activist. She is a repatriated expat by way of Toronto, DIY tech geek, and working-class gone hustling-class high femme fatale who's been onstage for over 13 years. She loves anything on two wheels and rhinestones.

D'Luxe's electrotext has been curated & performed all over North America, including at Queeruption 10, Sista'hood, Femme 2008 & Femme 2006, the Radar series, at Ladyfests, at Mayworks and the Hysteria Festival at Buddies in Bad Times; at universities, her own shows, in cabarets, and with the now-retired all-femme troupe, Trash & Ready.

She has been published in anthologies and magazines, and has three self-published albums out: Bad Girls Belief System, 2005; Bombshell Lexicon [Trash & Ready], 2005; Ice-9, 2008

She has worked in independent print, web, theater and audio production for 10 years, and is committed to creating representations of the diverse communities she embodies using self-taught multimedia techniques, and to skill-sharing with others - she is completing an MFA in DIY by teaching no/low-cost multimedia strategies and is committed to empowering individuals to speak for themselves using new technologies.

She likes to curate and plan events, and has put together shows from Manhattan to Seattle on a regular basis since 1999. She's on the FemmeTech tour Summer and Fall 2009, find out where on her website!
