Album Notes
“A collection of songs that make your heart sway, and voices that find that sweet spot, and keep you dancing in your dreams.” Christina Wise, Press Banner (Scotts Valley, CA)
“Gorgeous folksy renditions...The harmonies have only gotten better...a local treat” Aaron Carnes, Good Times (Santa Cruz, CA)

Backyard Birds performs a wide variety of music, “uncovering” great and often overlooked songs in genres ranging from Americana, rock and roll, alt-country and R&B to jazz standards.

The three women’s close-knit harmonies and the band’s acoustic stylings have drawn comparisons to the music of the T Sisters and Rosanne Cash, but their discerning and eclectic material makes them unique.

Backyard Birds’ debut album, “Wildlife”, features music written by Carlene Carter, First Aid Kit, Buddy and Julie Miller, Imelda May, Ray Edenton and Don Winters, and Neil Young. Live performances include songs from their repertoire of The Zombies, Leonard Cohen, soul greats Dan Penn and Chips Moman, Buddy and Julie Miller and Jazz pianist and songwriter Dave Frishberg, among others.

Album personnel:
Linda Baker (vocals, acoustic electric guitar)
Jean Catino (vocals, tenor ukulele)
June Coha (vocals, soprano ukulele)
Larry Prather (bass)
Linc Russin (mandolin)
Special guest Brian Stanley (drums and percussion)
