Baltimore-Based Band Bad Apples Announces Album Release Show

Baltimore, MD – Bad Apples, one the of the most musically diverse bands on the local music scene in Baltimore, is proud to announce the release of their second album, Devil’s Advocate, along with an album release show on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Recher Theatre. The Recher Theatre is located at 512 York Road, Towson, MD 21204.

Devil’s Advocate, which was self-financed and recorded at Orion Studios in Baltimore, was mixed by Drew Mazurek – a well-known engineer/mixer/producer among the local Baltimore music scene – and features 10 original tracks. The album encompasses the classic trope of “sex, drugs and rock & roll.” With tracks like the toe-tapping “Hot & Cold Baby,” the heartfelt “Chin Up,” and the intense “Backseat Driver,” this album’s diversity will saturate listeners with astounding sounds.

Playing the local Baltimore bar scene for the last five years, Bad Apples developed their unique sound while raising money and recording and mixing Devil’s Advocate. With the addition of two new members – Brad Rickard on lead guitar and Pat Martin on bass, who joined Matt Bogdan on lead vocals and rhythm guitar and Mike Happel on drums – the band cemented a sound with rich guitar tones backed by a strong rhythm foundation, while being topped with melodic-based vocals.

“This album represents a great snapshot of the band’s evolution and creative collaboration and only promises more to come in the future,” said Rickard.

“Devil’s Advocate is a combination of each of our distinctive styles blended into one creative endeavor,” said Happel. “As you listen to the tracks, you can see how we developed as a band and how we were able to incorporate all of our musical influences into a solid, standout album.”
