Album Notes
Many feel that Eric hit his stride as a songwriter with his third release ‘The Nobody Curse’. The first track “The Nobody Curse” starts off with a dire warning from a fortune teller. “The cards never lie… you’re going to die and the album ends with the powerful “HEADSHRINKER and tracks main character explaining himself to a doctor after a botched suicide attempt. The character in HEADSHRINKER was a based on a real life person and Eric' best friend who did in fact kill himself. It is also the first time we can get a taste of the darker themes to follow with 2012’s Not Sad, Hopeless.
There is a coherence on this album that is close to perfect in pace and lyrical content. Each song and story building upon the next. Eric has always looked up to those who fight right against conformity and society norms. And it really come across on The Nobody Curse. Even murderers get a softening from the pen of one of the very best songwriters out there.
