Album Notes
Heather Bambrick's voice has been described as a combination of "the cool smoothness of Diana Krall, with the rich honey sounds of Ella Fitzgerald" and her performances across Canada and the US continue to bring audiences to their feet. Heather has recorded and/or performed with artists like Phil Nimmons, Kenny Wheeler, Carol Welsman, Rob McConnell, and Peter Appleyard. She is the winner of the 2004 Canadian National Jazz Award for "Vocalist of the Year".

After spending five years recording and touring with the award-winning Beehive Singers, Heather released her debut solo CD "It's About Time" to rave reviews. In only its first month of release, the recording hit #17 on the Canadian National Jazz Chart. "It's About Time" continues to receive regular airplay throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and South America.

“Those Were The Days” is Heather’s anxiously awaited follow-up. This sophomore release features lesser-known gems from the American Songbook, as well as interesting inserts from the worlds of Theatre, Pop and Folk music. Once again, Heather has assembled a top-calibre group of musicians, including Juno award winners David Braid on Piano and Mike Murley on Saxophone, Chase Sanborn on Trumpet, Michael McClennan on Bass, Anthony Michelli on Drums, Ted Quinlan on Guitar, and internationally renowned Fred Hersch on Piano.

Recorded over a span of almost 2 years, this release showcases Heather’s voice as the mature and creative instrument it has become. If you enjoy classic Vocal Jazz, world-class musicians, and beautiful sound, you’ll love this disc!

I listen to a lot of jazz vocalists...
I listen to a lot of jazz vocalists... and this is one of the best young vocalists out there - creative, expressive, fresh - I loved her first disc and this is even better. I particularly love the title track, but there are many winners.
Now if she would only come to Seattle so I could hear her perform live!

This CD is another example of Heather getting better and better. She has all the tools but doesn't get foolish with vocal "tricks" and self-indulgent showing off. I wish she got to The States more often.
