Album Notes
Rick "Bam" Powell, Drummer, Singer, Writer. Spent the 70's going to college, playing in an eight piece horn band called Cannon, then went to Fla. hooked up with now legendary guitarist, Scott Hendersen of Trible Tech. Then to Muscle Shoals Ala. to go on the road with LeBlanc & Carr. They were on the ill fated " Survivors" Tour, opening for Lynard Skynard for six of their last seven shows. Later, after extensive touring, recorded a live record in NYC at Atlantic Studio called LeBlanc & Carr Live on Big Tree Records. After the break up of LeBlanc & Carr in1978, he stayed in the South playing with various groups until "The Raisins" called in 1980. Powell went back home to Cincinnati,Ohio where he recorded "The Raisins "self titled album, produced by Adrien Belew. 1985 the Raisins break up and release "Everything And More" a live four disc set of all the unrecorded Raisin songs. Then went with Stagger Lee, a local Progressive Country group. 1991 moves on to the Blubirdz Big Band a funky R&B band. they released "The Blue Birds" "Argentina" and "Attrition" Powell still plays and records with them. their latest record was released in 2007 called "Art And Commerce , The Brawney Lads". In 1999 Powell released "Bam Powell and The Troublemakers" an eighteen song disc, engineered and produced by long time friend, Rick Probst. Right after that Bam meets up with singer songwriter Lee Rolfes. with the addition of Bob Nyswonger of" Raisin" " Bears" fame, the band Bucket was formed. The band has two records,"This Here"s Bucket" and" Hunch Dancer" Powell also recorded a cd with Fred Thomas and Tom Brooks called Notti Bogotti . All songs written by Fred. Bam now also plays in a power trio called Tickled Pink, due to release their first record sometime in 2009. That brings us to Bams latest solo record. "Eat The Fat, Drink The Sweet" A self produced record featuring Bob Nyswonger on bass and Scott Covrett on guitar, both of Tickled Pink.
