ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Here's some praise for the band's self-titled CD:

Al Muzer of The New Jersey/New York based Aquarian Weekly writes:

"Grooved by retro-thentic bassist Tom Bonassisa, drummer John Oakes, and Eric Seiz on guitar and trumpet, guitarist/vocalist Tom Foti takes you back to the days of moon-June-spoon and simple boy-meets-girl desires with four repeat-listen, radio-ready slices of pop perfection.

An earnest, multiharmony love jangle with an instant hook, "Mystery" sounds like something the Mosquitos performed on Gilligan's Island in '66; "Jumpin Outta My Shoes" rides a crazed "Happy Hour," snare driven hook straight up the charts; while "Ask Amy" is a swaying, boss-y nova Beatle-blast that showcases the group's outstanding harmony blend.

The final track, a classic-sounding, mid-60's AM radio hit called "Valerie," continues Foti's subconscious tribute to Material Issue's Jim Ellison by naming another catchy cut after a female, this one featuring nonsense lyrics, ace vocals and a great trumpet-to-guitar-and-back-again solo."

Bob Shannon, one of the most popular DJ's on one of the most listened-to radio stations in New York City, WCBS-FM 101.1 raves:

"I thoroughly enjoy this music! I listen to it in my car driving back and forth to work. It's very entertaining and well recorded. A great sound!"

Performing on The Band Next Door's CD are Tom Foti on acoustic rhythm guitar, John Oakes on drums, Tom Bonasissa playing bass guitar, and Eric Seiz on lead guitar and trumpet. Four guys from New Jersey managed to come together to form a sound that's fresh and vibrant and unlike any other in pop-music today. The music lives on melody -- the kind that you find yourself humming after hearing it the first time -- and a contagious, energetic beat. The band's members are all experienced rockers. Between them, they have thrilled crowds at major venues including the Orlando Arena, Great Adventure (a Six Flags theme park), the Stone Pony, and the Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Together they perform with a tightness that lends an added punch to every song, and their vocals often blend in exquisite three-part harmonies.
