ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Never afraid to experiment and go in different directions, Banjo Bones’ Ghostly Musings from the Delta is an exploration of the National Steel Guitar and is his nod to the Blues masters of the Mississippi Delta. But this is not a blues album, and it is a stylistic 180 degree turn from last year’s Cowboy Dreams. While Cowboy Dreams was deemed the soundtrack to the desert, the new record is less thematic and more dramatic. The album features the aforementioned National Steel slide guitar in every song, whether it be the rocking opener Dangerous Games or the introspective and haunting Rabbit Hole. Picking Up the Slack and The Sermon also offer flair and drama to the session in their unique way. The record was recorded, mixed and produced right here in Sacramento, at Boneyard Records studios by JL Espada, and once again includes violin virtuoso Giorgi Khokhobashvili on several tracks, as well as a guest vocal performance by the angelic Annie Eldorado. In Ghostly Musings from the Delta Banjo Bones continues to redefine the Americana genre by giving it a swift kick in the rear end to take it further away from polish and squarely in the direction of true grit.
