Hometown Girl

by Barbara Markay

This song is about the challenges of growing up in a kooky, disfunctional sometimes nutty family. Full of witty, funny, humorous lyrics and the tempo is very high energy and very upbeat.

Album Notes
BARBARA has studied piano since she was a child. At the precocious age of ten she won a scholarship to the prestigious Juilliard School of Music where she graduated from the college division as a composer and pianist. She has worked with some of the top names in the industry, ranging from Quincy Jones, Martin Scorcese, & Michael Jackson (in the production of the “Bad” video) to Eric Clapton, Carly Simon and George Duke, and doing musical arrangements for the Saturday Night Live Band. She has performed with Bruce Willis, singing back up with his blues band, The Accelerators. She has had a #17 hit record on the European Billboard pop charts with a single called “It’s Allrite” in the early 1980’s with WEA International in Holland, and another #2 hit on the French charts called “I don’t wanna be a zombie”, in the mid 1980’s with French company Musidisk.
