ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I'm paying attention.
And writing songs about what I notice:
The way that every breath I take is an exhalation of the trees nearby.
The lessons of three great rivers I've had the pleasure to know.
The gifts of being present -- really present -- at my father's last moment 20 years ago.

There is a jazzy bass and vocal piece that celebrates a friend setting off on an adventure.
And a blessing for a nephew as he walks through challenging times.

"Let It Be" is the only cover. This version was the result of pure magic between pianist, Steven Hobert, and me.

This album is eclectic -- by turns inspiring, hilarious, tender, mystical, and jazzy. It's pre-shuffled!

Beautiful music, beautiful artist
Wonderfully talented Barbara McAfee's new album is a joy. Diverse, warm-hearted, fun, and full of surprises, you will want to listen often. My favorites: The House on Sherburne Street, Kindness (both versions!), and Breathing Trees. Give yourself or someone else a gift of love and life.
