Album Notes
I write melodic music with a contemporary sound. For the vocal numbers, I've chosen poetry with humor or a message. The instrumental composition which separates the choruses from the vocal solos has two very different movements: Reverie is contemplative; Rondo is lively, with a lyrical section. The vocal music illuminates the poems, and the words are pronounced normally in the performances. My most unusual composition is Joy, Praise, Hope: Psalm/Mantra Music. The idea to combine four Psalms with a Sanskrit mantra came to me out of the blue in the high mountains of California. It sent me to music school, and came to fruition when I was ready, 34 years later. In the interim, I composed many of the other pieces on this CD.

People have said this about my CD: "It sounds wonderful and is very well put together." and "You did a good job writing the music to portray the words." and "What beautiful music!" and "It would’ve been unfair to the rest of us if you hadn’t made this CD. And the booklet is elegant!"
