Album Notes
Ahhh, THE DINOSAUR ALBUM. Originally released by Kid Rhino on cassette only in 1993, this is the first time this wonderful and fun children's album has seen a digital release.

Remastered for the digital age and sounding better than ever before, this album is for kids AND fun-loving adults too! When first released, each song's artist had a goofy dinosaur name attached to it. But now the "secret" is out: The actual artists and performers are the notorious duo BARNES & BARNES!

Barnes & Barnes are usually known for their more "adult" type of comedy/novelty/risque pop music. (FISH HEADS-PARTY IN MY PANTS,etc)... But it had to be toned down a bit for the ol' kid genre. B & B always loved this project and feel a closeness to it even today. Dinosaur songs are timeless, right? They explored all aspects of the Stone Age. You could say they left no stone(age) unturned...

So for those of you that have to have ALL things Barnes & Barnes, you need this album to update your collection and have a complete set. But watch out for the dinosaur dung as you walk the earth with the cavemen and carnivores. And be sure to say hi to T. Rex for us---

Why let the children have all the fun with this album?
The Dinosaur Dance starts with a quick exchange between Bonehead and Spike. It sounds like a fun song that makes you want to rock out dancing, twisting and shaking to the great music.

Scaly Swamp Creature has great lyrics and makes you want to bop along with the music and even roll in the mud. A dinosaur's life sounds fun. Don't be extinct, just be a dinosaur.

If Dinosaurs Were Here Today has nice sound effects and engages us to explore the world of dinosaurs. Hi Ho away we go, just like the seven dwarfs, only taller.

Ugga Bugga has a great music intro with interesting lyrics about loving to play rock and roll. But turns a little bit mellow when thinking about the new buildings and missing the mud. Just say ugga bugga yaba daba doo.

I'm A Pterodactyl is a fun and happy song about eating fish without utensils and not becoming extinct.

When I Was A Dinosaur is one of my favorites with catchy music and words.

Hunting For Meals In All The Wrong Places is another favorite. 'Seeing hungry looks on dinosaur faces' about some tough times. Even eating a tree full of leaves with some friends sounds fun.

Watch Out starts out with some funny dialog about Bonehead telling Spike to be careful. This sounds like a rockin' sound with fun lyrics about watching out. I love the music. 'You gotta use your brain if you wanna survive.'

Who Will Be King Dinosaur? starts with Bonehead and Spike discussing another election. The music reminds me of a circus as the lineup of dinosaurs give their introductions. 'Ask not what the dinosaurs can do for you, ask what you can do for the dinosaurs.'

Big Hairy Caveman starts out with Spike asking Bonehead what he's doing and finds out he's just hanging on stones. This is a song about the fun of being a caveman and not insulting any dinosaurs.

They're All Gone is another of my favorites with interesting and very creative lyrics. It's about the sounds of different dinosaurs that didn't have TV, cars, boats or electricity.

The Changes Are Coming Still starts with Spike telling Bonehead about the new horn he grew before they start going places. I love this song about aging from 5 feet to over 50 feet tall. It's fun to hear the flute sounds throughout the music.

Sweet Dinosaur Of Mine is one of my all-time favorite songs. It's so very sweet and peaceful. 'Close your eyes my baby brontosaurus, you are such a miracle to me, moon and stars are shining just for us, everything is as perfect as can be.' It's a beautiful song that is worth listening to, because it will help wash any troubles you have away. I definitely think this song could be sitting on the nightstand, because I can close my eyes and feel totally relaxed when I listen to it.
