By Request (Mike Barone)
Another great album from the Mike Barone Big Band. By Request is my favourite of the recent sequence of top recordings. Mike's band has its own distinctive sound, while reminding one at times of other West Coast greats like Bob Florence and Bill Holman. Of course, the soloists, notably Ernie Watts, make the new album doubly attractive. Let's hope there are further albums to come from this excellent outfit.

An Absolute Must!
Mike Barone's Band is the best that could happen to the Big Bands World of today. Mike's arrangements are superb and so are the two monster lead trumpeters Lee Thornsburg and Pete DeSiena!
