ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album is for the tune-lovers! With an over abundance of tunes and arrangements from many sessions along the way, the band recorded this all instrumental collection.

This album includes slow airs, (Neil Gow's Lament For The Death Of His Second Wife- traditional; The Maids of Arrochar - traditional) and uplifting and raucous sets of tunes (Clumsy Lover Set - Tribute to Robert Stubbert - The Visit Medley - The Brolum Set - Wedding Party Medley - Twin Fiddles).

A band composition with a very laid back approach was Toonik Tyme (Stewart MacNeil). (This tune was to commemorate a visit to Aqaluit, Baffin Island for their annual spring festival.)

Guest musicians on this album are stellar. Montreal jazz legend Michel Donato added his magic touch on upright bass along with the celtic based rhthyms of guitar player, Zan McLeod.

You can hear the excitement and love in this project with the melding of musicians in each performance!
