ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I have been composing original instrumental soundscape music for a decade. The fact that I often use themes involving astronomy and ancient myths seem to be a good catalyst for me. Einstein once said "there is nothing more beautiful in the universe than the mysterious". I believe he is right. Consider that when we look out into the cosmos that we are looking back in time. Light that took billions of years of travel is now just reaching us. Astronomers know that light from the far reaches of the universe carries all kinds of information. In fact, the light from our own sun and solar system has been traveling through space for over 4.5 billion years. This means the whole history of our solar system could be visible to other civilizations living in the depths of the universe. Every living creature and event that has occurred will travel on beams of light until the universe goes dark.

I hope my new album Music From The Night Sky will take you on a journey far from the frustrations of daily life and take you places you can only dream of.

I want to thank Wayne Webb my fellow musical collaborator from New Wilderness for contributing his vibes, flute and other sounds on the tracks Rain of Light, We Meet Again and IC 1101. For those of you not familiar with our New Wilderness recordings, I suggest you check them out.

My hope for my music is that one day a movie producer or imaginative TV series may want to use or have me compose some of my music for them. If so, you can reach me at (716) 735-7096.

Peace

Barry DiGregorio
