True Drew

Bold as love... a balm for troubled times...
Barry has been cranking out stirring music for a long time, but nothing in the back catalogue quite as moving as this disc. With guitar that alternately sparkles & spirals over gorgeous grooves, Hyman serves up a soul-shakedown party like nobody can! A boss-album that works equally well for low lights, wine, and headphones or for a friday night rent party. Buy it. Hire this man to play at your venue. It's the real deal. Roots music for a new era...
Rock away King Happy, Rock away!!!

Exceptional! Must Have!
"Halfway Home" is a strong dose of what can only be called roots. A touch of reggae, a touch of world beat, strong blues guitar and a fantastic rhythm section make this album a wonderful offering. Powerful horns punctuate about half of the tracks, a welcome addition. A must have.

Within a few seconds goosebumps start, followed by involuntary participation on a cellular level. An awesome cd! Your toes WILL tap and your hands WILL slap. A must have for collectors of truly great music! Great job Barry... you are home. Thanks for the experience!

A musical journey not to be missed!!
My, oh my, we are fortunate to have in our midst this gem of a guitarist and mastermind of music, King Happy. Indulge your senses and soul in his latest musical journey… As you sail away to harmonious places – where the wildly exotic and comfortably familiar are in perfect balance – you’ll ride the exhilarating crests and troughs of every wave in the sea… And bask in warm, soothing sunshine, moderated by a stimulating breeze… As you feast on a 13-course, ethnic smorgasbord, each serving with its own unique blend of savory spices, sauces, and sustenance… Yummmmmm...

(And for any literalists…) “Halfway Home” features the beautifully-nuanced, multi-lingual guitar (harmonica, etc., etc.) work of, unmistakably, King Happy. A variety of other impressive instrumentalists – including Barry’s brother Laurence playing silky-smooth and rich horn – enhance the music in many dimensions. Your body will begin dancing before you think about it!

Sure nice to know that he’s not home YET, so we can look forward to continued musical journeys with King Happy!!

An Album For The Ages
The music on this disc is wonderful. The guitar work is exquisite, the rhythms rock-solid, and the horns will blow you away. Not only that, but all of this excellently multi-ethnic music comes from upstate New York! Remember, the title is "More Than Halfway Home", not "Home", so expect more great music to come in the future. This album is just a stepping stone on the pathway of musical brilliance. Peace, Love, and Happiness to all!
