ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Dzikowski's songs were called "intrinsically beautiful and groovy." Just recently one of his original songs received an honorable mention in the International Songwriting Competition, held by the West Coast Songwriters in the USA. In 2014 and 2015, he gigged in London in clubs like the renowned Camden Gallery. He received four out of five stars on the prestigious NoDepression.com for his song Trouble Trouble. His album "Traveling Soul" was highly reviewed by famous Polish music journalists Jan Chojnacki and Wojciech Man. They both played it on their radio programs and Mr. Mann invited Bartek to his TV show on Polish National Television.

Bartek Dzikowski – singer-songwriter, composer. He started his musical journey early. During college he was competing with his band at music festivals around Poland, earning several prizes. Later on, he was attracted to folk and roots music. As a result, he recorded an album called „Traveling Soul” (reviews further down).
In the four years after recording the album, he kept composing new songs, and got a full new set ready to record.

Dzikowski also composed and recorded an original song for a commercial movie of the oldest and most renowned Polish Wedel Chocolate company. His song was put together with high end video footage, to create a „delicious” mix all together.
At the beginning of 2016 there will be new songs released both in Polish and English. They will be a forerunner for two EP's. One in Polish - „To Wszystko w Nas”, and one in English - „Restless Bird", again in a folk style.

Reviews and comments about the album „Traveling Soul”:
Italian blues website BLUESTIME.IT claims that Dzikowski's sound is similar to masters of the American "west coast” style - James Taylor and Carole King.
Belgian ROOTSTIME.BE describes his songs as "...rhythmic, rocking, jazzy, catchy and intrinsically beautiful...”
Before being released, songs from the album "Traveling Soul” attracted the attention of renowned Americana and roots music Web-azine – NODEPRESSION.COM. NODEPRESSION.COM featured two of Dzikowski's songs on the front page, rating one of them four out of five stars.
Considering all of the above, it is not a surprise that Dzikowski has also been recognized in his motherland – Poland. Some of the most renowned and recognizable polish music journalists - Jan Chojnacki (Polish National Radio Channel 3), Wojciech Mann (Polish National Radio Channel 3), and Przemek Draheim (Polish National Radio PiK / Head of the BLUES.PL portal) - have all spoken highly of the album and mentionned it several times during their respective radio shows. Wojciech Mann, who is also the host of a TV Show on Polish National Television, invited Bartek for an interview and to perform one of his original songs on an episode of the show.

It seems that music from the "Traveling Soul” album can grow on any ground. Scandinavian portal BLUS-FINLAND.COM published a great review of Dzikowski's CD, which read as follows: “Dzikowski proves to be a talented songwriter. Especially the pop/AOR/soft rock songs are full of good ideas. He is a good singer, knowing his vocal potential...you can hear that he is strongly inspired by THE BEATLES. Throughout the whole album you can hear the ghost of "Norwegian Wood” and "When My Guitar Gently Weeps” wavering through. His biggest strength is the skill of building and modeling the moods.”

”On a musical sky, full of one season stars, flashing like supernovas and vanishing for ever, Dzikowski stands out as a bright spot, that can surprise early. His first album "Traveling Soul” is real proof of his outstanding abilities."
POMERANIAN JOURNAL
======
"This album is a mix of folk, blues and rock, hidden in twelve melodic songs. The opening song "Girl Your Soul Is Gone” has a strong American feel. Sung in a pert way, a bit nonchalant, but above all completely honest. All this is for the good; it shows that for Bartek, singing is like a walk in a park, and the style that he chose fits him well.”
