Album Notes
In 1997 we recorded our first CD "Taking It Easy at the Blethering Place". The recording was enthusiastically received and was one of the five finalists in the Best Canadian Traditional Jazz Band Recording category of the Canadian Jazz Record Collectors Congress. If you were among the many who enjoyed our first CD (now in its third pressing), and inquired about the next one, here it is: "Take Two at the Blethering Place"! We hope you find this a worthy companion to our first, 1997 recording. The Bastion Jazz Band took up Sunday evening residence at the Blethering Place Tea Room, a well known landmark in the Oak Bay Village, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 1996 and played there for 14 & 1/2 years. Since then we have been at the Ocean Island Backpackers Inn, every Saturday, 8 - 11 pm. \
