Album Notes
New release "Big Trio" cat. no. BL003
March 2005

The new release from the Bateau Lavoir trio is "Big Trio". The title comes from the spacious qualities produced by this experiment. Originally the five channel delay was used by guitarist Giles Thomas for a solo environmental concert in a museum, which enabled him to send sounds in a sequence around a very large space. This was adapted to a live improvised ensemble situation with the basic trio in a one off studio session. The recording was made on the 16/12/04 at the Bateau Lavoir studio. As this was an unusual and demanding set up for the group which produced a special result it was decided to release it as a cd. In line with the current philosophy of Bateau the recording represents the full unedited session, nothing is added or removed. To facilitate searches the recording is divided into four indexes without pauses so the original continuity can be listened to or the listener can jump between indexes.

Thomas Campaert: drums
Patries Wichers: vocals, loops, samples.
Giles thomas: prepared guitar with delays.
