ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"The Wild Animals" is a beautiful guitar driven album, and its collection of songs can be enjoyed singularly or as a running narrative that is both personal and universal in theme.

This is Bats Brew's fourth full length album release.

Written, performed, arranged and mixed by Robert Gilliland, "The Wild Animals" is a rock guitar inspired symphony of southern flavor and true to Rob’s inspiration is a virtual gumbo of influences ranging from Hendrix, Queen, Zeppelin, Rush & Jeff Beck, to the more diverse styling of Brand X, and modern bands Like Queens of the Stone Age, Tool and Foo Fighters.

For the gear heads, the tracks were recorded using Shure, ADK and Audio Tecnica mics, A Designs Audio MP-1 preamp, RME Babyface Pro interface, Sansamp Bass DI, Presonus Studio One DAW, Mesa Boogie Mark 2B amplifier, and various cabinets.

Neo-Classic Rock or Modern Rock with a "Classic" vibe
I've been following Robert, or Bats as I like to call him, for sometime.
Is he a neo-classic rock artist, or modern rock artist with a "classic" vibe?
I'll leave that up to those more experienced in "defining" genre.
What I can tell you is Robert's performances, songwriting, and production are all top notch.
He never fails to deliver!
The Wild Animals (all his work) is an album worthy of a spot in any rock enthusiast's library.

Completing my Bats Brew quadrilogy!
Excellent 4th album by the Bat Master! First rate songwriting, guitar playing, and song mixing and mastering. As my "father" used to say "Most impressive!"

NOTE: If (when) you pick up his first CD "Trouble", try putting the front insert for the jewel case in upside down (like CD Baby shipped it to me!). That bat looks like he's part of the Grateful Dead's "Keep on truckin'" band of brothers! Very cool accident!
