Album Notes
Symphomaniacs is the third album by San Diego's Ira B. Liss Big Band Jazz Machine, the first devoted to compositions by a single composer, Dan Radlauer.

Coincidentally, it's the best, thanks to stellar contributions of guest artists Eric Marienthal, Wayne Bergeron, Bill Armstrong, Dan Higgins and Carl Verheyen.

The Ira B. Liss Big Band Jazz Machine is a 30 year fixture in the Southern California music scene. Led by Baritone Saxophonist, Ira B. Liss and voted Best Big Band by The San Diego Music Awards, the BBJM is San Diego's most versatile jazz orchestra. Having taken the stage with such renowned artists as The Temptations, Bobby Caldwell, Louie Bellson, The Four Tops. Harry Connick, Sr.,,Shirley Jones, Shelley Berman, Bill Acosta, Pete Barbutti just to name a few, its no wonder that JAZZ NOW Magazine proclaimed that the BBJM is

" a most unique Big Band of our time", and "this band can kick up a joyful ruckus with the best bands anywhere."

Over the past fifteen years, Dan Radlauer has composed music for well over 700 commercials for companies including; Coke, Nissan, Pizza Hut, Acura, Microsoft, Denny's, Mazda, Mattel and many others. From 1990 to 1993 his music was featured as theme music for the Sally Jesse Raphael Show and the Jerry Springer Show. He wrote the theme for the "Disney Block Party" cartoon series, and has scored a cartoon series for Nickelodeon.
His music is heard internationally from Theme Parks in Asia, to commercials in Australia, Europe and Russia to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. He frequently donates his time and talents to non-profit organizations composing music for public service announcements and fund raising videos.
An accomplished pianist, guitarist, bassist, orchestrator and synthesizer programmer, he has the ability to compose in many styles from classical, jazz and symphonic music, to rock, techno and sound design. He is also frequently asked to collaborate on lyrics for songs and jingles.
