ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

Bear and Robert are Cindy Bear and Franc Robert, an award winning singer-songwriter duo from Jacksonville, FL. Together their acoustic sound has been described as a deep well of of Folk, Blues and Americana with a high energy je ne sais quoi. Their catchy melodies, toe tapping rhythms, and soulful lyrics will touch your heart in many different ways, and will always leave you wanting more.
The 12 songs on this CD cover a wide range of musical styles, from the Tin Pan Alley feel of "Mulligan Stew" and "Take Me Back To Tampa" to the Delta Blues of "Dockery Farm Fish Fry" and "Need More Sumpin", to more modern acoustic blues in "Half Moon Over Memphis" and "Preacher's Wife Blues" to the sophisticated Folk/Americana of "Oven In Love" and "Sunday Morning" all presented with a warmth and humor that only a musical and life couple could have.
All sounds on this CD were created by Cindy and Franc...

Love it!
One of the best things I like about my CD collection is that I personally know all of the artists. It was such a joy to get a copy of this new project recorded by my friends, Cindy Bear and Franc Robert. What really impressed me was their creative, stellar songwriting. Cindy and Franc write and sing from their rich experience as a married couple, comically described in “Oven in Love.” “Half Moon Over Memphis” recalls a memorable trip to that city’s blues competition; the word pictures are amazing. Bear and Robert have a knack for blending whimsy and wisdom, humor and blues, in a winsome way that is sure to gain them more fans every festival and venue at which they perform. The instrumental “Sunday Morning” is the kind of guitar piece that you can play and replay when you want to surround yourself with tranquility and beauty. Cindy’s rich voice will remind you of Mama Cass. Franc’s guitar playing will wow you. Together, their musicianship is magnetic. Hearts in Blues is a gift of loving, musical friendship to any listener.
