Album Notes
"Conventional wisdom tells us that three women, let alone three Divas, will not play well together and that too many cooks spoil a dish. Throw conventional wisdom out the window this time, because the three multi-talented women who make up The Beat Divas have hit on the perfect recipe, their voices blending seamlessly in delicious harmonies. Any performance cooked up by these Divas is bound to be a very tasty treat." -Virginia Wood, Food Editor, The Austin Chronicle
On The Beat Divas: We have always spent the better part of our rehearsals talking about food. So we brought our passion for food and cooking to Central Market Cooking School, Austin, TX, where we've been presenting classes since 2004. We're a well-established jazz vocal group - and songwriters - so it just made sense to write our own food songs for these classes. Sometimes the dish inspired the song. Sometimes the song inspired the dish. Whatever the case, it's music on the menu. Bon appétit!
