Album Notes
Listening to "Patchwork" has given me many pleasant sensations: rhythm, color, harmony, sweetness and ... Brazil, wonderful land that has given us the bossa nova, one of my favorite genres. The combination of the beautiful, warm voice of Beatrice, the engaging percussions by Gilson, all the nice phrasings by Riccardo, the inspired lines of Luca and Marco, the precise actions of Giulio and the contributions of all the musicians who participated in the realization of this great project, have generated a pleasant sequence of known songs and original songs, for an overall excellent result. Special thanks to Beatrice and Riccardo, authors of "Me and Mr. Cherry", dedicated to me with loving affection. The song has a particularly evocative theme, my musical portrait. Good friends, go on, with a big hug from Franco Cerri

This project was really born by chance. We decided to record something just for us, to keep the memory of an unrepeatable moment, as if to stop what was happening in those days. A Youtube video, a message comment, an absolutely bizarre idea, a deliberately hijacked fleeting tour for 3 days in Italy and here arrived Eduardo Marson, talented young Brazilian guitarist - as if we were old friends. He was recording with Gilson and me and other great musicians and friends ... He was passing through, we seized the moment! Then, step by step, from the meeting of different souls, in different moments, with songs of different styles, our Patchwork is ready and reveals an enveloping blanket of colours, rhythm, emotions, poignant and whispered words of cheerful choruses, assembled with wise patience and with elegant simplicity thanks to the many spirits who have participated. This is why I consider it another special gift that life has given to me ... Beatrice Zanolini

My mother made blankets and bedspreads with scraps of cloth and I remember when emptied the sack full of clippings that she had chosen on the basis of colour, fabric type and size ... and then began to sew, sometimes she stopped and changed something and even undid a piece already finished because she had changed her mind. And although she worked with what she found and was available, the result was extraordinary because it always showed her creativity and her imagination. "Patchwork" is like my mother’s covers, it was born and grew in this way, almost by accident and built slowly, over time, changing the line-up, catching moments and ideas, enriching the songs thanks to the musicians playing with us, for their music and their human value: they all had something to talk about with us with this project. We have put together many colours, many different forms and finally we have assembled them with all our hearts... Gilson Silveira

This album represents to me the ultimate proof that nothing is all coincidence in this world. It all started when I was on tour in United States. I was in the middle of a road somewhere in South Carolina, when I watched a video of Beatrice singing on my Facebook feed. I messaged her saying that I loved her voice and she messaged me back. My Europe Tour was just a month away, so we came up with the idea of playing some shows in Italy together, just like that, completely out of the blue.
So then Beatrice invited Gilson to come play with us. I didn't know Gilson yet but when we took the train to Venice to play our first show we had a great talk. We talked about music, life, politics and the Brazil world cup. We became friends right away.
Our first show was great. I was in shock with Gilson playing. He was one of the best percussion players I ever heard and I was playing live with him. We were having a really good time then we came up with the idea of recording the whole thing.
Bea introduced us to Gigi and his studio, and I was really impressed with the quality of recording and the vibe was incredible. When Riccardo started to play I thought, this record is gonna be great! After that, some time passed and the result is in your hands right now. This album represents the bigger connection, the friendship and the good time we had doing this record and all of this will always stay in my heart. I deeply thank Beatrice for producing and taking a wonderful care of this album and I say that I am very proud of being part of this album among so many great musicians. Lots of love to all and I send my deepest love to Italy, this Country that amazed me for all time... Eduardo Marson
