Album Notes
A premier collection of diverse songs from this seasoned songwriter.
Combines the intuition of Cheryl Wheeler, the lyrical focus of early Joni Mitchell and the round, smooth sound of Anita Baker. Anderson has written a group of lightly produced songs that will be worth checking out.

Other musicians: Mark Lopatosky, Randy Jacobs, Mark Fraser, Carlos Gonzalez, Ed Witkin, Ron LaChappelle

Amazed: vocals/guitars/bass- The title track doo wop about sweet changes.

Ocean of Waves: vocal/guitar/handdrum/chimes- Quietly asks how to understand love and its rhythms. Infectious "back-beat"

Beyond Survival: vocals/rattle- Victorious speak of spiritual freedom - 3 voices weaving all over each other

Morning of the Dove: vocals/piano/cello- Songwriter's translation of a message given by a bird's song one August morning. (Really!)

Dilly Dally: vocal/guitar/whistle- Languid, Sondheim-esque tune about letting go of perfection

Kid spot: short line of a song from my 6 year old.

Heart of Gold: vocals/piano/cello- Lovely ballad for healing damaged hearts

Anything I Dream: vocals with children/guitars- Written to give courage in the long night of a child

Field of Dreams: vocals/guitars- Folk ballad about living on the edge of uncertainty and becoming truer for it

Floater: vocal/bass/rhythm- Kicky tune for emerging womanhood

Rising Wind: vocal/guitars- Story song about Mr. Pond, who lived in the same town for 50 yr.

Posies: vocal/keyboard/guitar/accordian- Tribute to my dear Vermont friend, Ivan Robinson

Button of Love: vocal/keyboard/bass/percussion- Pop tune written while I had a job filling vending machines. Can't get love out of a machine, folks. Eventually gotta give more than coins and shallow stuff. Style is like early Laura Nyro

Kid spot: Heard enough?

Don't Keep Quiet: vocal/rhythm/bass/guitar/synth- Courage for the upward path. We will all get there!

I play this CD nonstop in my car--makes me feel great!
Becca Anderson's voice is like honey and her songs soothe and inspire. Listening to her new tunes is a sure way to lift my spirits. I especially love the upbeat "Floater" and "Don't Keep Quiet" and the silky sounds of "Ocean of Love." I've been listening to it for weeks now and still find new things to admire about her voice, guitar, rhythm, and songwriting talents.

Gutsy renderings, full-out harmonies, savor the layers
I've been a fan of Becca's for years. I wondered if the CD tracks would match the electricity of her live performances. And they do! Listen to Amazed...
Even better, I get to hear the harmonies Becca hears because she is singing all the tracks, full-out-Becca. The phrases hauntingly repeat to me like poetry and great moments. I reccommend one CD for the house and one for the car.
Gutsy renderings are layered so that savoring each song uncovers more...She's way Beyond Survival!

Sarah Sue's Music Review

Clear, sweet, stings just a little, engages alot.
We want more from Becca. Her generosity toword other musicians is delicious in the resulting tracks, but it leaves us wanting more. Specifically, more clean guitar, more mixed instruments, more mixed 2&3 part harmonizing on the next CD.
