Joe Ross (Roots Music Report)

Polished, richly rewarding set of new bluegrass
Becky Buller’s “Crêpe Paper Heart” is a polished, richly rewarding set of new bluegrass. Buller had a hand in writing all but the bonus track. Sterling vocals, sweet harmony and masterful instrumental work give us a lush, lilting musical journey from start to finish. Her lyrics can be evocative, graceful and balladic. The album mainly features past and present members of the Becky Buller Band. That includes Ned Luberecki (banjo), Prof. Dan Boner (mandolin, guitar, vocals), Brandon Bostic (guitar), Daniel "Hulk" Hardin (bass, vocals), and Nate Lee (fiddle). Special guests include Sam Bush, The Fairfield Four, Rob Ickes, Claire Lynch, Stephen and Jana Mougin, Frank Solivan, Rhonda Vincent, and Erin Youngberg. The award-winning Buller writes, sings, plays with strong assurance. Whether taking on themes nostalgic or picturesque, she evokes confidence. This is another superlative effort that will help her receive even greater recognition and acclaim. (Joe Ross, Roots Music Report)
