Album Notes
I've been singing as long as I can remember. My dad was a professional singer and as I listened to him and sang along, I understood that a song could tell a story. This early revelation was a first step down the road toward becoming a musician.
One day he brought home a broken guitar from a junk shop. He replaced the head stock and put on a new set of strings. My sister taught me a few chords, and so it began. I took my guitar to school and sang for my third grade class.
I discovered songbooks of Bob Dylan and Peter Paul and Mary and recordings of Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, and James Taylor. Music became a means of expression and a comfort. The guitar was my constant companion.
It didn’t occur to me that music might be a career of sorts until a friend called to ask me if I would entertain in a saloon he was opening in downtown Boise. Thus began my career of playing in bars, community stages and concert halls. After many years of playing and trying to make ends meet, I became an elementary school teacher. I integrated music and song into every day of learning.
Two years ago a series of events led to my stepping out of the classroom and returning to that which has been at the core of my life, my solace, my
And so, here is the first recording I have made in over 20 years. It is a collection of 10 songs beautifully crafted by different writers. Together, they tell a story of love, loss and healing. It was recorded at Ace Recording Studios in Austin, Texas with the talented Rich Brotherton, engineering, producing and contributing his brilliant musicianship to this project called Trumpet Vine.
The collection is a journey well worth the listening.

I love that song, I’ve had in on repeat for the last hour, listening to the words, trying to understand the meaning, I know what I feel, a priceless friend! I am hard of hearing, so some words are difficult to understand, but it is beautiful. I was introduced to you music by my daughter in law Elizabeth thank you!!!

Never written a review of anything in my life. But I'm so tickled to find this wonderful gem from Belinda Bowler, just had to do it. Her song selection, voice and playing combine in a magic elixir that will mesmerize your soul. As simple, powerful and pure as they were when she used to play in a little place called the Bacchus Room in Moscow, Idaho so many years ago, where she was Bindy to the bartender. WOW! All I can say is buy this album, and Bindy, please give us some more.
