The Truth In A Beautiful Lie

by The Bella Fayes

Sonic foundry of thick guitars and pounding rhythms set off by a straight-shooting lead vocal. These rock enthusiasts specialize in knock-down, drag-out shows, but this record houses some sensitive gems that make for a complete listening experience.

The Bella Fayes formed in the Summer of 2000 when former Geffen recording artist and acclaimed singer/songwriter Lael Alderman joined forces with former members of Drive (Shane Fisher on drums), Architecture (Jason Henry on keyboards and guitar), and Thrillbilly (Daven Hall on bass).

The band quickly built up a fanatical following with their powerful live performances that were brash and abrasive while also being reflective and poignant.

Combining ringing distorted guitar hooks with refined lyrics, and a rebellious aesthetic borrowed from post-punk, the band simultaneously sounded traditional and modern.

With the release of their debut six-song EP So Much More Than 'Hello' in April of 2001, they truly arrived on the Northwest music scene.

The CD received critical praise in the press, extensive radio play on KBOO, KPSU, the "Something Cool" show on 94.7 KNRK radio, and also appeared on the Local Music Spotlight on KINK 102 radio several times.

The band was also featured on FOX 49 television performing "In the Transistor's Glow" in its entirety in order to promote the Bella Fayes showcase at the Musicfest Northwest Music Conference in September.

Their latest release, 'The Truth in a Beautiful Lie' finds them equally occupied with rhythm and melody, but certainly not forgetting the base of rock music upon which the band was founded.

CD Baby

With vocals and lyrics that shoot straight from the hip, unforgiving, reckless guitar brilliance and unstoppable drum abandon, at the core of this great storm is a an "eye" of intimacy.. something tangible to grab on to- that grabs on to you as well. Give yourself up to the musical journey of this beaming rock band; it will be one of the most pleasurable surrenders of your legendary life.

A rock hybrid that unites fresh songwriting perspectives with the die-hard attit
Pushing through sonic strata of guitars, bass and percussion (and the occasional keyboard melody) this group deftly imports the spine and attitude of familiar rock names, and thrusts them forward to where songwriting and vocals are more accessible, and the music can be recorded in the most flattering manner. There’s no mistaking the predominant nature of the record (it is certainly meant to rock your socks off) but through the adroit and nimble romp, they can slow things down and create a few reflective treasures that flicker and glint behind the outwardly facing rock music and provide an appropriate respite before plunging back into the roiling cauldron of rock‘n’roll.
