Craig R

The single best album from the neo-swing era
Forget Brian Setzer, or Bill Elliott, or the Royal Crown Revue, or the CPD's, BBVD, or any other group from the short but fabulous neo-swing era of the late 90's/early 00's. They are all as great as can be, but if you haven't heard this music, you missed the best of the era. From the opening moments of the first cut, Call of the Wild, with the drummer pounding his floor tom like he's trying to wake the dead, you'll be in swing/jump blues heaven.

Incredibly talented musicians on every instrument backing the best, most clever, original songs of that period; the Cadillac delivers one song after another that are all gems. Every. Single. One. With brilliant, existential lyrics that look at the human condition through a jaundiced eye, Doug Bell shows himself to be a master songwriter as well as wailing on guitar. This is "can't miss", folks. So don't miss it. It is one of the essential albums from the era. Get it while you can.

Oh, and don't miss the "hidden" thirteenth track that starts a couple of minutes after Mysteries. It is the quintessential song for guys. Who knew?!!!
