ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Armed With Decoder Ring began one night as three solo acoustic songs recorded in David Nash's cozy Norman studio. We like what we heard that night, and so decided to continue the project with some old friends helping out. I've played with Red (Patrick Dennis), Gator, and Steve in various situations for years, and David recorded my first solo album, Black Lipstick. I think you can hear the familiarity and comfort we have with each other come through these tracks. It's a collection of a few new songs with some older ones that had yet to be recorded, at least to my satisfaction. I like the relaxed, unpolished sound. There's plenty of space to breathe, and the guitars and instruments are clear and clean, but I always end up tapping my foot when listening to it. Mission accomplished.
