The Best Revenge

by Ben Livingston

The Best Revenge is inspired by Justice William O. Douglas: “As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression." and remedied by a life of tentative reflections where doing good is the best revenge.

Album Notes
As an indie visual artist, writer, songwriter/ performer and recording artist I have been shown how to conduct my own business from "Lords of Indie" friends, Terry Allen, John Sayles and Maggie Renzi. These models, like myself make art for others as a living, save up a war chest and then we go out and do our own thing such as a film or create a story or music recording which may or may not garner mass appeal.

Thanks to my producer, the legendary Denny Bruce, I now record and release singles of my favorite originals at my own pace, that will accumulate and at some point "The best of" will be compiled into a traditional CD.

To me, the concept of "Indie" is a deeper survival tactic that insists on following ones own "True North" at all costs.
