Album Notes
Twin brothers Benny and Brian Goodman have played together since childhood brought up in the alleys of rock n’ roll by bands like Queen, Aerosmith, and Guns N’ Roses. Forging their love for all things rock, Benny and Brian first made their name playing progressive metal in the band CARV, then turning to production, Benny becoming a hired gun and professional DJ, and Brian focusing on EDM.

So why Benny and the Jets? Because there are only so many times Benny could take people asking him at DJ gigs if he, for some odd reason, had never heard that Elton John song. You know, the one that goes BENNIE…B-B-B-BENNIE AND THE JETS? So after much thought Benny realized: why not go back to his rock n’ roll roots with his brother and play the music that has always been engrained in their hearts? But what to call the band? Ahhh…yes, why not be Benny from Benny and the Jets, except with a “y,” of course, because you have to spell it right.

The last thing was who do we get to be in the Jets? It was pretty simple, Benny recruited his long-time friends Alicia Marinelli (guitars, vocals) and Eric Sheppard (drums) simply because, well, they are both really good, have their own equipment, and were able each catch a ride to make band practice. Or so the craigslist add said. So maybe years ago Elton wrote about a fictitious rock band, but now Benny Goodman along with his brother Brian Alicia, and Eric bring you Benny and the Jets for real, a brand of infectious, old-style rock n’ roll that caters to no trends other than perpetuating the joke of a mere DJ
