ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Just say something about how I've been doin solo stuff lately and wanted to just record everything I'd been performing for the past year or two plus some new ideas i had that I thought would work better on my own, and stuff that I didn't think suited the band. Plus that way I got to do some musical styles that I haven't had the opportunity to do in the past, and I could write songs about stuff I like instead of all the nerdy crap that we usually do. Felt like a real freedom to be able to hone the work and chop and change stuff as I went along, like after I filmed the clip for one song I realised the intro needed to be longer and it was easy to do since I recorded it all myself. Oh and I got to collaborate with a bunch of awesome friends who I don't get to work with that often, like my friend Dan who's an awesome drummer and I was able to just bring my laptop to his house and record some mad swing beats. Oh and my friend James who is a demon on the saxophone, and he laid down some wicked horn parts for the jazzier numbers. Oh and my friend Gabi who is a dynamite singer but doesn't get much air time so she features heavily on this album, hopefully she can get more opportunities off the back of this. OH and Jacinta Gregory too, she's a Sydney musical comedian who more people should know about, she does some backup vocals and she's in one of the clips and she's really good. Plus my friend Huntington, in a perfect world we'd be a musical duo. Oh and Bridie Connell who's just super talented and lovely and made the Weekend song so much better than it ever woulda been if it was just me, she shines in the clip too. Ummm I think that's about it, oh wait Emily and Boddington, they're doing parts in the acapella number, really good singers. So much fun working with all my talented friends, I'm already thinking of ways to get em all involved for the next album. OH and I even got my mum to do a little cameo, and she bloody nailed it, she's just the best. And then I dunno sign off with something about the joy of creation and magic of giving to the world blah blah blah working in the arts is a whatever etc etc you know the usual show biz crap.
