Album Notes

From the time he was born there was always something alluring and captivating about Bernard Stevenson’s persona. It was obvious from the very beginning that Bernard was destined to do something great that would affect many lives.

Bernard’s humble beginnings in music began as a small boy being raised in a Los Angeles housing project. As the youngest of 12 children Bernard showcased his talent by entertaining his brother and sisters through family talent shows. He made his first public performance in junior high school and then Bernard moved on to join groups and ensembles through senior high school where he honed his entertainment skills. After graduating from Dorsey High in Los Angeles, Bernard went on to City College where he studied music theory and begin to take interest in stage and television. He eventually found himself on the television sitcom circuit.

Never ceasing from his love of music Bernard developed his skills as singer, songwriter & producer. Meanwhile, a transition began to took place his life which birthed new songs of hope, faith and love. Through this tenor Bernard found himself sharing the stage with artist such as BeBe and CeCe Winans, Shirley Caesar, Commissioned, Tramaine Hawkins, Andre Crouch, Chaka Khan, El Debarge, Helen Baylor, Phil and Brenda Nicholas and many others setting the stage for what he calls “The Time.”

Well, i was intimately involved with this cd from the beginning to its completion. As a producer, i hear and work on ALOT of music. But i came back here to let Bernard and all of you know that this cds is truly an inspiration to me. PLEASE take another GOOD listen to all the timely issues and questions that Bernard writes and sings about. As i sit back and listen (again), im really really proud of this record and even more of Bernard for putting 2gether a SUPERB debut release. The music touches me and makes me think.

This is by far one of best CDs to come along in quite some time. Not only is it contemporary, it is also uplifting and inspiring. I play it over and over. And it gets better each time I hear it. This CD touches every human emotion. It is provocative and inspires us to be our best. Congratulations Bernard, you have hit a homerun with this project. And I can’t wait to see what’s next.
