Album Notes
Described as a prolific songwriter, Bethany's powerful voice carries variety and warmth as the songs tell stories and share her heart. A worship leader in multiple denominational settings, a House of Prayer and a leader of her local Burn 247, Bethany has learned much from the many people, musicians and cultures she has been part of. Always intent on listening for and sharing the truth, most of these songs are products of extended time in worship, playing alone or with others.

The theme song, "Wholehearted Love" is the finished version of a spontaneous song originally sung late at night in a sparsely populated room in downtown Salt Lake City. In the midst of a 2-hour "set", the hope and need for loving wholeheartedly and being loved wholeheartedly came out in the push-pull of not being satisfied, and yet seeing evidence of the possibility and promise of wholehearted love. Many of the sweetest and best conversations take place at my piano, or at my guitar, as song comes pouring out in an attempt to solve riddles and express my heart.

Over the years, these songs have come in such a way, each beginning with a core conversation in my heart, leading into a melody and a song to share. "Marry You" is a bit of an exception, since I wrote it intentionally for my new husband, Mike, during our first months of marriage. Yes, I had wanted to write a song to sing for him at our wedding, but it took longer than I expected!

Playing and singing is a form of meditation, prayer and conversation for me. At the piano, I am often my most honest and transparent. I will often bring a Bible, phrase of verse to use as a launching pad, and then proceed to build as I play, listening for the voice of heaven, the heart of God, which is my greatest inspiration.
