Album Notes
Ghostwriter signaled a return to Beth's more stripped-down, elemental production while showcasing Beth's growth as a songwriter. Recorded in Asheville, NC in the tiny basement studio of Chris Rosser, a wonderful singer-songwriter in his own right who was too tall to stand up in his own basement.

Beth Wood is a modern-day troubador, barefoot singer, award-winning songwriter, powerful vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, shameless harmonizer, poet, and communicator of joy.

After studying classical piano, violin, voice, and harp and earning a degree in Literature from University of Texas at Austin, Beth decided to throw caution (and her day-job) to the wind and become a full-time troubadour. Thirteen years, thousands of shows, seven albums, three cars, and numerous awards later, she has never looked back. Beth's exceptional musicianship, crafty songwriting, and warm stage presence have been winning over audiences from coast to coast. She now lives in Eugene, Oregon and tours nationally playing listening rooms, coffee shops, bars, festivals, houses, and the occasional yoga studio. Beth has won many awards, including the prestigious Kerrville New Folk award, and has released 7 independent CDs, her latest of which is called “Beachcomber’s Daughter”.

Beth also loves sports, and one of her weird hobbies is performing the National Anthem. She has done so at several major sporting events, including Texas Rangers Major League Baseball (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004), Dallas Mavericks NBA Basketball (2004), and several minor league baseball and hockey events.

Beth says… "I feel blessed to have the opportunity to make music for a living! I want to continue making music I believe in, and to continue spreading the word about independent music. For me this journey is not just about the music - it's about the connections we make through music and recognizing the importance of art throughout our lives."

Back to Basics, Beth Delivers Yet Again...
The latest effort from Beth Wood, her fourth CD, is beautifully polished. She, a formidable guitarist/singer songwriter, is backed by a very talented group of musicians, making each song full and vibrant. Perfect for listening in the car, or anywhere you want to put a CD on, and listen straight through without worrying about the "bad tracks" in the middle, because there are none. I especially enjoy "Company Man" and "All the Way from Here" but the instrumental "Emily's Dream" deserves a listen as well. One of my top five favorite female artists of all time, Beth Wood proves over and over, that she is worth the distiction.

Now at the top of my female vocalist list!
This CD presents a wonderful female vocalist - clearly now at the top of my list! Produced by Chris Rosser - along with Beth - this is some great music. Now I have to get the rest of her CDs!
