Album Notes
Album notes by Sue Songer: Although David Kaynor and Betsy Branch are male/female; rural/urban; Baby Boomer/Generation X; East Coast/West Coast; coffee fiend/tea lover; runner/bicyclist; Aries/Aquarius; Mac/PC, when it comes to fiddling, they are two of a kind. Both invest jigs and reels with commanding drive, but they also know how to find the sweetest tones in waltzes and airs. They each excel at harmonic improvisation and in bringing out the best in whomever they are playing with. These skills are only amplified when they make music with each other. Here is a result of Betsy and David's collaboration----a two-fiddle recording that provides a virtual tapestry of sound as they trade lead and accompaniment on a wide variety of tunes. They weave harmony lines, chords, rhythms, and counter melodies around a golden thread of melody producing a fabric to varied and rich it is hard to believe that it was created by only two players. Two fiddles, two bows, that's all. But in the hands of Betsy and David, that is all that is needed to create music that will truly delight the ear and warm the heart.

This album was recorded live in Montague, Massachusetts, in the Montague Grange Hall, in August of 2009.
