Album Notes
After 2 years of arranging and recording at Kena Naya Productions in Tomball, Texas, the awesome "God's Amazing Love" CD was produced. The 12 track album has 3 traditional hymns, 4 inspirational classics, 2 spirituals and 3 original songs. All of the songs were meticulously arranged by Betty Howard to create her unique style of gospel music.

When Betty puts her own spin on a song, she always remains true to the basic melody of the song. Occasionally, she uses blue notes (notes from the blues scale) to add flavor and color to the melody.
Examples of this can be found in her arrangement of Edwin Hawkins' "Oh Happy Day," Marijohn Wilkin and Kris Kristofferson's "One Day At A Time" and the spiritual "There Is A Balm In Gilead."

To create variety in her music, Betty uses the violin, flute, saxophone and guitar to play bluesy riffs and to improvise jazzy solos. "Go Down Moses" is a good example of this. The beautiful exotic sounds played on the saxophone took the recording of this song to a higher level of interpretation as the driving bass guitar outlined the walking movements of Moses going to Egypt. In addition, Guy Ben Murphrey, Betty's producer, arranged powerful parts for the brass quartet which created a strong harmony background for "Go Down Moses" and other songs on the album. Doing this also helped the musicians create the Big Band Sound that is heard on some of the other tracks of this album.

To make a long story short, Betty described her music as "Sweet Gospel with a Touch of the Blues." She uses her strong resonant voice to sing songs that convey messages of hope, love and eternal life. It is her desire that listening to the songs on the "God's Amazing Love" CD may encourage people to live a godly life and do everything within their power to get ready for that Great Day.

Betty Howard's God's Amazing Love CD
It was so refreshing to hear songs from my childhood. The hymns and other selections are well done , but my favorite selection is "Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior." I can remember very vividly singing this song in my church many, many years ago.

Refreshing to hear true gospel tunes with new twists. Adding the various musical saxophone and violin really made the selections stand out. The strong vocalist touched the soul. You spirit was moved from. Amazing. Grace to. You. Will. Never. Walk. Alone. Very uplifting Cd.

Inspirational recording
There is something special about recordings of inspirational tunes when made by people who mean what they are singing. What a great collection of songs - with really fun arrangements! Both the familiar songs and the new tunes are a joy to hear - thanks for sharing your gift, Miss Betty!

Soothing and Comforting Music
I enjoy listening to your music because I find it to be soothing and comforting. It allows me to reflect about life and love ones already gone without being overwhelmed with sadness. I especially like "O What a Joyful Reunion We Will Have," for I believe we will all be reunited in eternity. Great music! Thank you for sharing it with the world.
